The Mitsubishi T-2 was developed as supersonic trainer jet for the JASDF. The first flight was July 1970. It had 2 Ishikawajima-Harima TF-40 jet engines and could reach MACH 1.6. A total of 98 T-2's were manufactured for the JASDF. Later a single pilot fighter version was developed known as the Mitsubishi F-1.

Mitsubishi T-2 CCV
This aircraft has a special CCV configuration. Coded 29-5103. It is a research jet to test high manoevrability flight. It was fitted with canards, belly fin and flight control computers to adapt stability. First flown in 1983 from Nagoya. It was seen in the Aichi museum in Nagoya, Japan.
