The Hawker P1127 was a British experimental and development aircraft that led to the Hawker Siddeley Harrier, the first vertical and/or short take-off and landing (V/STOL) jet fighter-bomber. Some 6 P1127 were built. Powered by a Bristol Sidelley Pegasus engine that has 4 rotating jet exhausts and also provides air to control valves. First free flight of the P1127 was November 19, 1960. The type evolved to the Kestrel and that later eventually to the Hawker Siddeley Harrier VTOL jet.

Just a few plastic scale model kits of the P1127 were made. Classic is the old 1/72 Airfix P1127 kit from 1963. Decades later Heritage Aviation came with a resin kit.
