The Hawker Sea Hawk was a carrier based fighter of British origin. Developed for the Fleet Air Arm (FAA), the Sea Hawk became Hawker first production jet aircraft. Development was started with several configurations after the Second World war. The type was only ready for production in 1951, with the Sea Hawk F1. The F 1 was armed with four 20 mm (.79 in) Hispano Mk V cannons and a Rolls-Royce Nene 101 turbojet. Its maximum speed was about 960 km/h. Some other varaints were developed as well. The Sea Hawk was a reliable but it had, as usual in those days, a limited service career. Aircraft were also sold to other countries like West-Germany, The Netherlands and India. Over 500 Sea hawks were built.
Sea Hawk MLD (Dutch Naval Air Force) 
The type was operated by the Dutch Naval Aviation as well. The Marine Luchtvaart Dienst deployed Sea Hawks from their carrier HrMs Karel Doorman.
This jet seen here comes from the United Kingdom and was British WV828 with c/n AW6073. It was an instructional airframe and was later acquired by the Royal Netherlands Navy who painted it up as a Dutch Sea Hawk for display purposes.This particular aircraft is painted in a MLD scheme as no 118 and is on display at the Traditiekamer De Kooy, at Den Helder airport (The Netherlands).
