The Aichi M6A Seiran was designed as a float plane to be operated from the large Japanese I-400 type submarine. When deployed from the submarine, it would attack enemy ships. For storage in a watertight compartment, the wings could be folded and the floats could be removed as well. First flight was in 1943 with a first eight aircraft completed end 1943 but deliveries started no earlier than end 1944.  The war in 1945 really came near Japan and the mid 1945 a flotilla departed to attack US forces but that not really happened. But the war soon ended August 1945.
