The Antonov 22 "Antei"  is a huge transport plane developed in the nineteen sixties in the former Soviet Union. The Antonov design buro , specialized in transport aircraft, designed this large plane with 4 large engines and counter rotating props, a rear ramp for loading and unloading large cargo items and a very large undercarriage enabling the plane to operate from many airfields. From 1965-1976 about 66 planes were manufactured. The Soviet airline AEROFLOT operated the fleet of An-22, known in the West with codename "Cock" .
